Abstract

Ligation of the intersphincteric fistula tract is a new treatment option for transsphincteric fistula in ano. The technique is described step by step and the results reported in the literature are discussed. This innovative approach remains to be evaluated and may offer promising results if confirmed and raise new perspectives of healing for those fistulae.
