Abstract
Zen Buddhism viewpoints exerted great influence on the world’s outlook of the poets of the late Northern Song dynasty. The essay aims to discuss the poetic and artistic concepts put forward by poets of the Song dynasty in the philosophical nature of Zen Buddhism. The Zen concepts that have enlightened the Song poets include “equality for all”, “being all-pervasive and all-inclusive”, “mastering the secrets”, “turning things around” and “the communication of the six roots”.
摘要
佛教禅宗观照世界的独特方式对北宋后期诗人观察认识世界的审美眼光颇有启发。 本文讨论了宋诗人在佛禅哲学背景下所产生的若干全新的诗学概念和艺术观念, 如由“万法平等”观生发出“妙观逸想”, 将“周遍含容”观表述为“如春在花”, 以“如幻三昧”解释艺术幻觉, 以“转物”思想强化拟人主义, 由“六根互通”转化为“出位之思”, 进而从“法眼”与“诗眼”相通的角度揭示了北宋后期诗学的重要特色。

Zhou Yukai 周裕锴 was born in Shuangliu, Sichuan Province. He graduated from the Chinese Department of Sichuan University with a Master’s Degree in 1984. In the same year, he was given a teaching position there. In June 1997, he received his Ph.D. He is now a professor and doctoral supervisor in the Chinese Department of Sichuan University. He is engaged in research on ancient Chinese literature, literary criticism and the Zen studies. His major publications include The Chinese Zen School and Poetry published by the Shanghai People’s Publishing House in 1992, The General Theory of Poetics in the Song dynasty published by Bashu Publishing House in 1997, The Zen Philosophy and Poetics in the Song Dynasty published by the Higher Education Press in 1998 and The Language of Zen published by Zhejiang People’s Publishing House in 1999. In addition, he also published more than forty essays in academic journals.
