Abstract
It is not uncommon for scaphoid bone fractures to end in pseudoarthrosis. The special anatomical features of the scaphoid bone must be emphasized. Particular attention must be paid to a rotationally stable connection between the proximal and distal poles. The vitality of the proximal scaphoid bone fragment represents a special problem. There is still no generally recognized definition of the term pseudoarthrosis (non-union). In the diagnostics of scaphoid bone pseudoarthrosis radiological criteria are particularly informative which are especially well depicted in the correct plane in computed tomography (inclined-sagittal in the long axis of the scaphoid bone).
