White Paper Addresses Digital Image Correlation Technology for the Construction Industry

Lucideon, an international materials technology company, has published a new white paper, “Digital Image Correlation for Construction.” The paper discusses the current and potential applications of digital image correlation (DIC) technology in construction and the advantages that DIC offers over conventional material, product, and structural testing methods.

Digital image correlation is a digital imaging technique that is used to produce a visual 3-D strain map to highlight the points of greatest strain when an object is placed under stress. The technique uses high-resolution digital cameras that can be applied to all areas of construction, from individual building materials and products to large-scale structures.
