Advanced High-Strength Steels Open image in new window

ASM World Headquarters, Materials Park, OH

The high strength and remarkable ductility of advanced high-strength steels (AHSS) make them suitable for a variety of uses in the automotive, construction, aerospace, railway, marine, and military applications. Students will learn about the types, microstructures, thermal processing, deformation, mechanisms, properties, performance, benefits, challenges, trends, sustainability, economics, applications, and evolving grades of AHSS. On completing the course, participants will have a comprehensive knowledge of the nature of AHSS and a grasp of the relationship between their composition, processing, microstructure, and mechanical properties. They will also be able to describe the rationale and consequences for using AHSS as well as their current and potential applications, sustainability, and evolution (1.0 CEU).
