Abstract
The neurological control of the lower urinary tract is mainly due to the autonomic nervous system (ANS), however, this one remains often unexplored in the analysis of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). The analysis of the ANS function is simple to accomplish by means of cardiovascular tests such as the 30: 15 ratio or the blood pressure response to standing. The disturbance of two tests confirms an autonomic dysfunction, with a peripheral origin (e.g. diabetes) or with a central origin.
