Abstract
Surgical reconstruction of an anterior cruciate ligament results in muscular and proprioceptive repercussions that hamper resumption of sports activities. A period of reathleticization in a specialized physiotherapy centre, a certain while after surgery, enables those concerned to evaluate muscular deficiency, enhance proprioceptive control and adjust the intensity of the planned exercises to suit the knee’s capacities. This type of scheduled resumption of sports activities enables sportsmen and sportswomen to be accompanied in full safety to their return on the field or track.
