Abstract
The optimal treatment of multiple fractures in the elderly must consider further evaluation criteria than those indicated for patients with a single fracture. Our experience from 2011 to 2012 includes 221 cases (mean age of patients ∼79 ys). The optimal treatment for these patients requires all the necessary precautions described and an operative timing that allows for functional recovery in the shortest time possible with the aim of restoring a self-sufficient life.
