Neurovascular injuries in total hip arthroplasty

Abstract

Major neurovascular injury is the least common, but most distressing complication in hip arthroplasty. Recognizing the patients at risk and a precise knowledge of the relevant anatomy are fundamental in order to minimize neurovascular injuries. The prognosis is variable and is related to the severity of the initial injury.
