Abstract – Anaesthesiology management: recruiting, critical issues, and possible solutions

Hip fractures represent a big challenge for the healthcare system. Fractured patients are very often aged and present with several comorbidities, therefore requiring an intensive and integrated approach. Cooperation of trauma surgeons, anaesthesiologists, geriatricians and physiotherapists can dramatically improve the outcome of the fractured patients, providing that an integrated, multidisciplinary clinical pathway is set up early. This article reviews the approach to the fractured patient according to the latest international guidelines.
