Ankylosing spondylitis: Corrective osteotomies

Abstract

Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the spine and sacroiliac joints. Vertebral osteotomies, like pedicle subtraction osteotomies and Smith-Petersen osteotomies, are an efficient way to restore a good sagittal balance and to reduce diseaserelated spinal deformities.
