Degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis: Surgical treatment

The authors present a retrospective study on a consecutive series of 147 patients operated on for degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis. All of them had at least one year of conservative treatment prior to surgery. The surgery was posterior bilateral decompression, reduction of the listhesis and instrumented PLIF using Harms cages and polyaxial pedicle screws, with segment compression. 22 patients were lost at follow-up. 85% of the followed-up patients were satisfied with the result of the surgery, while 15% had a poor or bad result.
