Abstract

Focus group is an interview-technique, which uses the interaction of people to undergo their opinions and attitudes. It is popular in market-research, politics and technology assessment. The possibility to conduct it online enhances its attractivity. The synchronous mode is quite similar to the face-to-face group but there are a couple of new things to put on: the used technology, the moderation, the hybrid modus of communication and the dynamics of interaction within virtual environments. To empower the reader to use this method practical advices „how to carry it out“ are combined with considerations about analytical dimensions.
