Traitement médical de l’éjaculation prématurée

Resumé:

L’éjaculation prématurée (EP) est un symptôme fréquent altérant la qualité de vie des patients qui en souffrent. L’évaluation clinique de ce symptôme est indispensable avant toute proposition thérapeutique. Les techniques comportementales et la psychothérapie ont été longtemps les seules thérapeutiques proposées, bien que leur efficacité à court terme soit limitée et que les études manquent quant à leur efficacité à long terme. Actuellement, il n’existe pas de médications spécifiquement commercialisées dans cette indication.

L’utilisation hors AMM des anesthésiques locaux, des inhibiteurs de la phosphodiestérase et des inhibiteurs de la recapture de la sérotonine a pu être proposée. Actuellement, ces derniers sont probablement les plus efficaces.

Abstract:

Premature ejaculation (PE) is a common condition associated with significant adverse effects on the sexual and overall quality of life of men with this condition. Behavioral therapies and psychotherapy have been the mainstay of PE management for many years. However, evidence of their short-term efficacy is limited while support for their longterm benefit is lacking. There are currently no medications licensed specifically for the treatment of EP. Current “off-label” pharmacotherapeutic approaches include topical anesthetics, phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors, and serotonin reuptake inhibitor. Of these, the serotonin reuptake inhibitors show the greatest efficacy.
