Alice Wu works as an intercultural communication consultant and trainer. She also teaches international graduate students to be teaching assistants in the International Teaching Assistant Development Program at Cornell University, which includes language, culture, and teaching techniques.
Alice also taught in the Intensive English program, worked in the International Students Office, and taught in the Learning Skills Center at Cornell.
Alice received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in linguistics with a concentration in teaching English as a second language, both at Cornell University. She also studied abroad in England, Finland, and Sweden. She worked for SAS Intercultural Communication in Stockholm, Sweden, where she also taught English.
Alice is particularly interested in intercultural adjustment and in internationally mobile families, and she produced two videos about internationally mobile college students (global nomads) at Cornell University. She did internships and fellowships at the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication, and is a member of Society for Intercultural Education, Training, and Research (SIETAR-USA), National Association for International Educators (NAFSA), and Families In Global Transition (FGT). Alice enjoys music, reading, movies, making photo scrapbooks, and seeing friends and family. She lives in Ithaca, New York with her husband and two children.
