He joined Sun Yat-Sen University since 1992, and became a professor in 1995. He was elected to Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009. His current research interest focused on synthesis, structures and properties of functional coordination polymers and metal complexes, particularly those having porous structures and magnetic properties. He is currently member of advisory boards of a number of chemistry journals, including Chem Commun (RSC), CrystEngComm (RSC), Eur J Inorg Chem (Wiley); editorial board member of Sci China Chem (SCP); and topic editor of Cryst Growth Des (ACS).
BU Xian-He was born in 1964 in China. He studied in Nankai University and received his bachelor and doctorate in 1986 and 1992. He received another Ph.D. in pharmaceutical science at Hiroshima University in 1995. He has worked at IMS and Tokyo University with Prof. M. Shionoya, also at Kyoto University with Prof. S. Kitagawa as visiting scientist. He is now a Chang-Jiang Scholar at Nankai University. His current research interests include coordination chemistry, crystal engineering, MOFs, and molecule-based magnetic materials, etc. He is currently member of advisory boards of Dalton Trans (RSC), Curr Inorg Chem (BSP), and member of editorial boards of a number of chemistry journals of China including Sci China Chem (SCP), Chinese Sci Bull (SCP), and so on.
