Zusammenfassung
Die flexible Endoskopie wird zunehmend für therapeutische Zwecke, etwa im Rahmen der Resektion früher Neoplasien, genutzt. Die derzeit verfügbaren Endoskope werden diesem neuen Anspruch jedoch nur bedingt gerecht. Erst unlängst wurden erste Lösungsansätze für ein dediziertes, therapeutisches Endoskop vorgestellt. In dieser Übersichtsarbeit werden die Anforderungen an den neuen Gerätetyp beschrieben und geeignete Prototypen charakterisiert.
Abstract
Flexible endoscopy is increasingly being used for therapeutic interventions, such as endoluminal resection of early neoplasms. However, the currently available endoscopes do not adequately fulfill the requirements for this new application. Just recently several potential solutions for a dedicated, therapeutic endoscope have been presented. This review addresses the requirements for this new kind of endoscope and briefly characterizes available prototypes.
