Abstract

Small-scale Wireless Internet Service Providers in rural areas (WISP) are always looking for secure and cost-effective solutions for their infrastructure. Therefore, this paper proposes an architecture for low-cost authentication Rural small-scale WISP Using Mikrotik hotspot and Freeradius server installed on Raspberry Pi 3. As the performance of this architecture testing was conducted, the result of using such a system was highly positive. The significance of this study is derived from the tested solution for low-cost infrastructure of WISP that it introduces.
