Abstract

To successfully design and evaluate the performance of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) mobile-to-mobile (M-to-M) communication systems, it is necessary to have detailed knowledge of the multipath fading channel and its statistical properties. In this paper, we propose a full-three-dimensional (3-D) reference model for wideband MIMO M-to-M communication channels. From the reference model, the corresponding space-time-frequency correlation function is derived, assuming 3-D non-isotropic and single-bounce scattering environment. This model includes many existing models as special cases. Some numerical results are presented to validate special cases of the proposed reference model.
