Estimating the energy of an ice-covered flow

Abstract

Energy balance of an ice-covered flow in a constant-slope reach of a regulated river is considered. The ratio of energy losses for viscous friction to the total flow energy is evaluated. The turbulence intensities of an open and ice-covered flows are compared.
