Abstract
This article presents an investigation of a Snubber Circuit-based Split Source Inverter (SCSSI) for nonlinear loads. The significant benefits of the proposed SCSSI over a conventional voltage source inverter (VSI) and Z-source inverter (ZSI) include high voltage gain, fewer passive components, minimized harmonics, minimized current and voltage stresses on active switches, good power delivery and an improved power factor. The performance of the developed SCSSI is assessed by a MATLAB simulation and validated by a hardware prototype. The proposed scheme is tested for various loads, and the results show that the suggested topology is advantageous.
