This is a review which needs context. The context of the author and of the reader in relation to the author. Without this context the review remains as an objective, sense making exercise in exploring the experience of reading… that is fine but without context this exploration of experience is, well, lacking meaning.

I am a Professor of Innovation and Methodology at the UK Open University but that is not really important. I first met Efiong Etuk in 1988. I know this because I have a signed copy of a paper which he wrote in the computer lab which I at that time managed at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England. The paper I am referring to is titled: ‘Self-Analysis: a desideratum for management trainees’. At that time Efiong was the Acting Director General of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria or ASCON.
