Abstract

An interferometer antenna system to observe polarized radio emission from the solar corona at different frequencies in the range 30 – 110 MHz has been commissioned recently by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics at the Gauribidanur Radio Observatory (latitude 13°3612′′N and longitude 77°2707′′E), about 100 km north of Bangalore (http://www.iiap.res.in/centres_radio.htm). This paper describes the antenna system, associated analog/digital receiver setup, calibration scheme, and preliminary results.
