Influence of Granulometric Composition on the Mechanical Properties of Pond Ash

Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering Aims and scope

The results of experimental studies of ash and slag mixtures (ASM) produced from the combustion of coal from various deposits are discussed. The distribution of ash and slag particles by size and density along the flow direction during pulp alluvium accumulation in ash dumps is determined. The characteristics of strength and deformability of the ASM at different contents of slag particles are established. Mathematical relationships are proposed for predicting the internal friction angle, the modulus of deformation, and the modulus of elasticity of the ASM as a function of slag particle content.
