Use of Granulated Foam Glass Ceramics to Protect Heaving Soil from Seasonal Freezing

  • CONSTRUCTION UNDER SPECIAL SOIL CONDITIONS
  • Published:
Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering Aims and scope

The effectiveness of applying granular foam glass ceramics to protect a roadbase from seasonal freezing is demonstrated. Observational results of the base temperature regime are presented along with a comparative assessment of risk zones characterizing the depth of freezing and possibility of intense frost heaving.
