Intermediate Bearing Capacity of Saturated Bed of Strip Foundation

Positions of the theory of limiting equilibrium of saturated soils and a description of a rigorous method for solution of the problem of the bearing capacity of the bed of a strip foundation are cited in an example. The concept of initial, final, and intermediate bearing capacity of beds in an unstabilized state are substantiated. The limiting state of saturated beds with preliminary consolidation under load are theoretically analyzed for incomplete consolidation. The influence exerted by a number of factors on the bearing capacity is investigated.
