Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering Aims and scope

The interaction between the bed, foundation, and superstructure of the Ukraina Hotel is analyzed on the basis of results of many years of settlement observations, and also measurements of contact pressure and forces within the columns of the frame. Numerical modeling has made it possible to evaluate the accuracy of certain approaches to solution of the problem in question, and explain the effects that arise during interaction between the building and bed.
