Selection of foundation type for supports of overhead power lines on slide-prone slopes

  • Construction under Special Soil Conditions
  • Published:
Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering Aims and scope

Causes of the deformation of supports of high-voltage lines (HVL) situated on slide-prone slopes are discussed. The expediency of installing standard mushroom-shape foundations in investigated. Alternate strengthening schemes are proposed for the foundations in examples of failed supports.
