Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering Aims and scope

A numerical analytical solution is presented for the three-dimensional axisymmetric problem of the bending of a infinite elastic isotropic plate on a Winkler bed. Trial calculations performed, which implement the solutions obtained, make it possible to conclude the need to consider shear deformations of the neutral surface and pressing of layers in the support zones of the vertical components of the bearing frame of a building on a foundation slab.
