Abstract
The problem of the theory of limiting equilibrium relative to the pressure of an infinite periodic series of strip plates on a weightless cohesive bed is examined. The “no-force-through” effect is exposed when the distances between plates are less then a certain critical value. A formula for determination of the limiting pressure and critical gap is proposed as a result of the processing of numerical calculations. Applications of this problem to actual geomechanical problems such as anti-slide pile bracings are discussed.
