Broadening the Awareness of Healthcare Professionals

Since 1978, the journal Sexuality and Disability has brought international perspective on healthcare issues and needs to promote the best assessment, intervention, training and education in the area of sexuality and disability. At present, the need continues around the globe and within specific settings to promote communication. Most important is that communication causes reflection, self-evaluation and re-assessment of needs. Of significance is that we continue efforts to not just talk but to apply our knowledge and awareness for meaningful change. There is plenty of work yet to be accomplished.
