Effect of Porosity and Viscosity on Biological Fluid Filtration Through a Double-Layer Capillary Wall

  • Published:
Russian Physics Journal Aims and scope

A model of the biological fluid flow in a capillary with two-layer porous walls is presented. The influence of porosity and viscosity parameters are studied for two flow regimes: diffusion and convection. The viscosity of the biological fluid has a stronger effect when the porosity of the inner capillary layer increases. The flow velocity in the area of the interface increases when the capillary wall layers have different porosities, which is associated with an increase in the concentration gradient near the interface.
