Effect of Thermal Fields on the Shift of Optical Standards of Frequency

  • OPTICS AND SPECTROSCOPY

Russian Physics Journal Aims and scope

Theoretical foundations of the effect of thermal radiation on the resonance shift of an optical clock are briefly described, reasons for the resonance shift are considered, and the behavior of the shift with temperature is investigated. Ways to reduce the effect of thermal radiation on the optical resonance shift is demonstrated by the example of a 87Sr optical clock. Characteristics of thermal imaging systems are calculated to estimate the distribution of the thermal field of the working medium of the optical clock.
