Model of Delocalization of Kinetic Elements and Viscoelastic Properties of Glassy Substances

  • Published:
Russian Physics Journal Aims and scope

A refined model of delocalized atoms of amorphous solids is suggested. The critical displacement of an atom from its equilibrium position corresponding to bending of the potential curve is considered as its delocalization (local excitation). The application of the model to plastic deformation of glassy solids and to viscous flow in the region of transition to glass is discussed.
