Numerical modeling of Fraunhofer diffraction in the Huygens-Fresnel approximation and forward scattering indicatrix of aircrafts

  • Published:
Russian Physics Journal Aims and scope

Results of numerical modeling of centimeter and decimeter radio wave diffraction by aircrafts in the Huygens–Fresnel approximation in the form of scattering indicatrices for the interval of bistatic angles (180 ± 55)° are presented. Methods of barrier over-the-horizon radio detection and ranging of aircrafts and estimation of their cross velocity when the aircraft crosses a propagation path are discussed.
