A theoretical study of the dynamic stark effect for a Ne+ ion under laser excitation

Russian Physics Journal Aims and scope

In this work, the shifts and splitting of energy levels induced by an external alternating electric field of circular polarization are theoretically studied for a Ne+ ion. The energy spectrum is calculated within the many-level approximation by the method of energy matrix diagonalization for an ion in the electric field. The dynamic Stark effect is investigated at different frequencies and strengths of the electric field, which allows us to reveal a number of interesting regularities. The obtained results are topical for solving problems of plasma spectroscopy and astrophysics.
