The present work studies propagation of neutrons through an inhomogeneous crystal medium with density fluctuations. The well-known formulas of multiple scattering theory are a starting point of calculations. The optical model within the framework of which the Lipman–Schwinger equation with the effective potential is considered is applied for a description of multiple scattering in the inhomogenous medium. The optical potential allows the scattered neutron wave intensity to be calculated.
