Abstract
A one-dimensional theoretical model of high-pressure gas discharge with an external ionizer is constructed in the present work. The model can be used to calculate the continuous current-voltage characteristic of the discharge with an external ionizer for any arbitrary current density from values close to zero when the discharge is non-self-maintained to values typical of normal and slightly anomalous glow discharges.
