Nonlocal Hydrodynamics of a Relativistic Classical Collisionless Plasma

  • Published:
Russian Physics Journal Aims and scope

Abstract

Based on the approach developed previously for nonrelativistic and relativistic collisional plasmas, it is demonstrated that the kinetic theory of the relativistic nondegenerate collisionless plasma for a certain class of external sources is equivalent to the hydrodynamic description with governing relations nonlocal in space and time. The dynamics of small perturbations of the rest state is examined, and the relativistic causality of the hydrodynamic model is proved. The general algebraic properties of nonlocality kernels are examined, and their expressions through special functions are presented.
