Abstract
Additional processing of the data array obtained from scanning a specimen by a radiation-data converter is proposed. This approach makes it possible to improve the accuracy with which dimensions and locations of characteristic zones are determined in rod-type specimens. The procedure involves binary coding of the moving-average function and restoring the array’s envelope by comparing a fixed-length sample, which moves along the binary array, to standard samples during preliminary conversion of samples into codes-products.
