Abstract
Dehydration of furoxan-3,4-dicarbaldehyde dioxime by the action of thionyl chloride or trifluoroacetic anhydride in the presence of a base under certain conditions can be stopped at the stage of formation of 4(3)-hydroxyiminomethylfuroxan-3(4)-carbonitrile.
