Abstract
Reformatsky reagents prepared from methyl 1-bromocycloalkanoates and zinc react with azomethines or azines to give 2,3-diaryl-2-azaspiro[3.5]nonan-1-ones, 2,3-diaryl-2-azaspiro[3.4]octan-1-ones or 2,2′ -bis(3-aryl-1-oxo-2-azaspiro[3.5]nonanes), respectively.
