Abstract
Interpretation of the EPR parameters of low-spin nitrosyl complexes of d 5 transition metal ions was illustrated with a pentacyanonitrosyl complex of Cr+. The bond covalence in the antibonding and bonding states of this complex was determined from EPR and optical spectroscopic data. The reasons for the observed abnormal value of the Zeeman splitting parameter were analyzed. The contributions to the components of the A and HFC tensors at the N atom of the nitrosyl group were calculated.
