Abstract

Reactions of α-perfluorophenylpyrylium salts with phenylhydrazine in ethanol give acyclic phenylhydrazones, which undergo rearrangement into phenacylpyrazolines in boiling ethanol. Transformations of phenylhydrazones in acetic acid yield N-anilinopyridinium perchlorates or pyridoindazolium salts formed by intramolecular cyclization of the latter.
