Tris(5-O-nitro-1,4:3,6-dianhydro-D-sorbit-2-yl) phosphate: synthesis and structure

Abstract

The reaction of 1,4:3,6-dianhydro-D-sorbitol 5-nitrate with phosphorus oxychloride afforded tris(5-O-nitro-1,4:3,6-dianhydro-D-sorbit-2-yl) phosphate, whose structure was confirmed by X-ray diffraction and 1H, 31P, and 13C NMR spectroscopy.
