Abstract
Benzyl-substituted N-benzylpyridinium chlorides were prepared by quaternization of pyridine with chloromethylated benzyl-substituted toluene, xylene, ethylbenzene, o-chlorotoluene, and phenetole. These compounds were studied as inhibitors of corrosion of 08 kp steel, 20 steel, and TsO zinc in solutions of sulfuric and hydrochloric acids at 20–80°C.
