Abstract
The conditions of oxidation of thiocyanate ions and thiocarbamide with iodine in aqueous solutions are discussed. The range of the pH values of the solutions, in which thiocyanate ions do not interfere with the iodometric determination of sodium sulfite in fixing-bleaching photographic solutions and the expenditure of iodine for oxidation of thiocarbamide can be taken into account correctly, is revealed.
