Identification of the Composition of Granular Domain Slag by IR Fourier Spectroscopy

  • Published:
Refractories and Industrial Ceramics Aims and scope

The article analyzes the prospects for using the IR-Fourier methods of spectroscopy and multidimensional analysis for identification and gradation in the composition of granulated domain slags of major Russian manufacturers. The characteristic absorption bands corresponding to the content in the composition of calcites, silicates, aluminosilicates are revealed. The principal component method identified the characteristic absorption bands of the slag spectra that contributed most to the gradation of the samples depending on their chemical composition. Generalized recommendations for choosing the scope of granulated domain slags are formulated. A generalized method of using optical spectroscopy and multidimensional analysis for identifying and classifying mineral raw materials is given using domain metallurgical slag as an example.
