Factors Influencing Sintering and Phase Changes During the Heat Treatment of Quartz Ceramics

  • Published:
Refractories and Industrial Ceramics Aims and scope

This article summarizes data on the influence of various factors on the crystallization of quartz ceramic products during their heat treatment. The formation of silica gel during the oven drying of billets and its effect on the heat treatment and quality of the final product were assumed.

Notes

  1. In the technology of quartz ceramics implemented at the enterprise, a distinction is made between drying in air at room temperature and drying in a furnace with residual heat (author’s note).
