Fine-Grained Ore Minerals – Raw Materials for the Production of Refractories

  • RAW MATERIALS
  • Published:
Refractories and Industrial Ceramics Aims and scope

The new deposit of zircon-rutile-ilmenite sands “Tsentralnoye” in the Rasskazovsky district of the Tambov region, which does not require crushing operations and the use of chemical reagents for enrichment, is characterized. The size classes for zircon, rutile, and ilmenite are given. The quantitative distribution of ore minerals in the ore sands of the Tsentralnoye deposit by size is considered. The definition of the maximum permissible content of suspended substances in the water of the reservoir when mixed with the discharged water is given. The design of a diaphragm thickener is proposed, which provides both thickening and changing the granulometric composition of the solid fraction.
